Effect of basic whiteness of papermaking pulp on fluorescent whitening agent
Fluorescent whitening agent ≠ bleaching agent. In the papermaking industry, fluorescent whitening agent cannot replace bleaching agent to bleach pulp, but serves as a complementary color brightening of bleached pulp. The whitening principle of fluorescent whitening agents is to absorb the invisible ultraviolet light in the product and reflect the complementary visible fluorescence to achieve the effect of whitening and brightening the product. The pulp of most paper manufacturers contains a lot of lignin and other pigments. If it is not bleached with a bleaching agent and a fluorescent whitening agent is used directly, a good whitening and brightening effect cannot be obtained. Fluorescent whitening agents can only be used to whiten bleached pulp, and the higher the initial whiteness of the pulp, the better the whitening effect will be. Many of our papermaking customers have practiced using unbleached pulp or groundwood pulp The use of fluorescent whitening agents for whitening can only improve the color light, and the whitening effect is minimal. After extensive experiments by application engineers, our company used hypochlorite to bleach rice straw pulp with an initial whiteness of 49.7% to a basic whiteness of 64.8% and 73.3%, respectively. Then, the same amount of fluorescent whitening agent was added under the same experimental conditions, and the influence value of the basic whiteness of the papermaking pulp on the whitening effect of the fluorescent whitening agent was obtained: It can be seen from the above table that the higher the basic whiteness of papermaking pulp, the better the whitening effect of using fluorescent whitening agent and the greater the whitening amplitude. At the same time, washing and purification of pulp should be strengthened after bleaching to reduce the influence of residual chemicals such as acid, alkali, chlorine and other impurities in the pulp, and give full play to the whitening effect of fluorescent whitening agents to obtain the best whitening effect. Bleaching the papermaking pulp to a whiteness of more than 70% and then using Hongyi Chemical's APC-X fluorescent whitening agent can increase the whitening effect of the pulp to more than 95% of the standard whiteness. Hongyi Chemical's fluorescent whitening agent APC-X is a special product with high whitening intensity and strong applicability specially improved for papermaking customers. Nowadays, many manufacturers on the market are using traditional whitening additives. Not only do they add large amounts, but the whitening effect is not greatly improved. Hongyi Chemical has made corresponding improvements to different types of optical brighteners based on feedback from customers in different industries, and provides application technical support to each customer.
